COURSEWORK Audience

Research for my magazine for my audience I have asked 10 people the same questions. These people that I have asked are focused on the my audience that I am aiming my magazine at which is A culturally sophisticated, 16–25 class AB demographic. I wanted to be able to engage with my audience during a focus group discussion about the level of sophistication in my work. Achieving this by more designing a magazine based on what they would want to see more than what I want. I reached out to these people through social media of direct message by Facebook on those who follow my page. We conversated about what I did in my magazines and followed the representations of media language because this is what my audience preferred. The conversation argued about the level of sophistication of my work. However, in terms of media language, I aimed my sophisticated audience through urban fashion to 16-25 years old AB demographic as would highly agree and understand my aim.I In my magazines I followed the representations of media language regarding urban fashion because this is what my audience preferred. The conversation argued about the level of sophistication of my work. However, in terms of media language I have aimed the sophisticated audience through urban fashion as 16-25 year old demographic would thoroughly enjoy the issues.

Do you prefer to see models who are like you or models that are clearly fashion models?
The majority of the audience answered that they would rather see people that are clearly fashionable. in their answers they also included that they would actually prefer to see people they know in fashionable fashion.

What types of clothes/settings would you like to see on a new magazine?
The majority of the audience said to me that they want to see trendy clothes with a side of the older generations style that they wore when they were the ages of my target audience. Being a new Fashion magazine my audience want to see new trends that are also at an affordable price. These people feel that a major problem they have is in other magazines they are introduced to fashion trends but are too expensive to purchase.

What types of articles/sell lines would attract you to buy a new fashion magazine?
The majority of the audience said that they would not want super detailed articles. Being a generation where they are always on the go, they therefore do not want to have to be spending so long on a page where a photographed style has been deeply described.

Do you use the contents to help you decide whether to buy the magazine?
Most of the people responded that they tend to just look at the front cover of the magazine; if the front cover was appealing then they will flip through to see if they definitely would like to purchase the magazine.
The respondents also said that if they had purchased the magazine before then like said before if they saw on the cover it was someone they knew or someone in quite fashionable clothes then they would feel comfortable buying the magazine.

If so, what types of articles do you want to see in the contents?
For those who did say they would look at a contents page to decide for if they would purchase the magazine said that they would want to see articles that included content about the people on the cover especially if the model may not be well known. The respondents said that they wanted to be able to get to know the model(s).
The key point that kept getting mentioned throughout the questionnaire was trends. Buying and reading a fashion magazine is about exploring new styles and trends. Following this, these people want to see articles based on trends.
